Children's Ministries

St. Mark’s loves our kids and wants to help them grow in their faith, know that they are loved by God and treasured by our community, and learn service and compassion for their neighbors.

Children’s discipleship begins at the very beginning. We hope you’ll consider St. Mark’s a resource and refuge for your child’s whole life. The pastors love to come visit new babies and their families and offer a blessing, and we practice infant baptism starting whenever parents are comfortable and ready (for more info about that, contact one of the pastors!).  Then there are offerings for children at the church for every age:

 Nursery Care

Children under age 5 are welcome in the nursery in our children’s building anytime on Sunday mornings (there is Sunday school for 3+ year olds, but the littles can be in the nursery at that time!). It is staffed by wonderful adults many of whom teach in our school, all of whom are carefully trained.

Pre-K Sunday School

if your child is between 3 years old and starting kindergarten, this is the class for them! It meets on the first floor of the Children’s Building and is taught by Ms. Rose and Mr. Ben. Their curriculum follows stories from the lectionary that match the scriptures we hear in worship.

K-2nd grade Sunday School

This class meets on the 2nd floor of the Children’s Building. Ms. Claudia, Ms. Rita, and Ms. Carol will be so excited to greet your kids! Their curriculum follows stories from the lectionary that match the scriptures we hear in worship.

3rd-5th grade Sunday School

This age has their own big kid space on the the second floor of the education building right next to the youth space. They have a new curriuculm called “Connect” that walks through the entire Bible and helps them make connections to their life and their world. Ms. Janet and Ms. Lisa are so excited to start this journey with them. They gather in the youth room to begin to their time together.

Children’s Church

Children age 4 years old – 3rd grade are invited to go with Ms. Claudia after the children’s sermon to experience the scripture in a way tailored for them. They return to the sanctuary before communion.

Children’s Choir

Starting in September, elementary age children are invited to come make music and have fun on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:15. There is sometimes an adult study running concurrently, or grownups are invited to hang out in the Gathering space.
